Donyelle Lucero

President

Donyelle is currently serving as President of the Board for a second year. She has previously served as the Committee Chair for RGDSN’s Buddy Walk and has been involved with marketing efforts since 2016. She is the mother of 3-year-old Charli and 9-year-old Nicholas who has Down syndrome and inspired her to become involved in advocacy efforts within the DS community.

Board Treasurer

Dawn has served in various capacities of the RGDSN organization since 2009. She has helped coordinate the Buddy Walks, raised donations and auction items for events. She is the mother of 17-year-old son Brandon with Down syndrome and 15-year-old daughter Lauren.

Jeannine Barreras

Jeannine Barreras

Board Member

Jeannine is serving for the second time on the Board.  Previously, she was the Vice-President of the RGDSN Board and helped to coordinate and raise funds for the organization. Her 13-year-old son has Down syndrome.

Laurie Magovern

Board Member

Laurie started with the RGDSN Board in 2016. She has an 11-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, a 16-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter.

Shari Cordova

Board Member

Shari has served in various capacities in the organization since its inception, including on the Board and various committees. She has four children, one of whom happens to have an extra chromosome.

Lena Armstrong Strober

Lena Armstrong-Strober

Board Member/Advocacy Committee Chair/Ambassador to NM Through National Down Syndrome Society

Lena Armstrong Strober is currently serving her 5th year as an RGDSN Board member. She is blessed to be the mother of two amazing daughters, Zoelle (14) and Aleeya (10), both born at home in water. She is lucky to share parenting responsibilities and co-producing festivals with her incredible husband Dean Strober. Lena enjoys teaching yoga, performing, sewing and facilitating sound healings. She is an advocate for all people having equal rights and fair treatment. Her life has been forever changed for the better by birthing a child with Down syndrome.

Billy Thiebaut

Program Specialist

Since April of 2016, Billy has been helping to coordinate programs for RGDSN. He is an educator and coach in Albuquerque Public Schools. He has a 11-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, a 16-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter.
